Part 2
You develop in-depth skills and knowledge in an area of business, and take courses from a range of other
disciplines, either within business or from another AUT degree.
You deepen your skills and knowledge in social impact within your course in your major in Part 2.
Part 3
You complete the courses that contribute to your chosen majors and minors.
The Capstone course – a workplace experience, applied project or a new business venture – is the final part of your degree and takes place in your final semester.

What will I learn?
Graduate Profile for the Bachelor of Business
In addition to the specific capabilities of the relevant major, a graduate of the Bachelor of Business will be able to:
a. Use critical, analytical, creative and reflective thinking processes to seek out and address complex problems and engage with other disciplines and perspectives (Inquiry, Research & Creativity)
b. Evidence and apply in-depth knowledge of specialist discipline(s)(Knowledge & Understanding; Skills & Application)
c. Demonstrate an understanding of the key challenges in managing in bicultural and multicultural contexts, and in changing global and technological environments (Knowledge & Understanding; Skills & Application; Personal & Intellectual Autonomy)
d. Discern the ethical dimensions and impacts of business activity and decisions, and advance arguments for socially responsible alternatives and outcomes(Ethical & Professional Dispositions)
e. Effectively collaborate with others in diverse teams and reflect on their contributions, and on the teams’ processes and ability to achieve outcomes (Personal & Intellectual Autonomy; Communication)
f. Effectively communicate, negotiate and influence using modes and mediums of communication appropriate to the context (Communication)
<ul>
<li>Are under the age of 20 years; and</li>
<li>Are a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia; and</li>
<li>Don’t meet the University Entrance standard; and</li>
<li>Have received secondary schooling to at least New Zealand Year 12 level (or its equivalent overseas) and completed NCEA Level 2 endorsed with Merit or better. This should include at least 14 credits in each of 4 NCEA Level 2 subjects, at least 3 of which must be on the approved subject list; and</li>
<li>Meet the UE literacy and numeracy standards, or their equivalents; and</li>
<li>Have not completed Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school; or</li>
<li>Have undertaken study in Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school, but not attempted to qualify for University Entrance</li>
<li>Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must also be selected into the programme for which they have applied.</li><br>
<p>Australian applicants most recent schooling must have been in New Zealand.</p><br>
<p>Applicants who have undertaken Year 13 beyond 1 June in any year may not normally be eligible to apply in the same year but may be considered for mid-year admission in the following year.*</p><br>
