Health management is becoming increasingly important. There are more and more Primary Health Organisations (PHOs) offering one-stop-shop services. But these complex health service providers need skilled people looking after the administration and management side.
Modules
You learn to carry out core management processes including assessments, planning, implementation, co-ordination and evaluation. You also learn to advocate for policies and environments that support quality rehabilitation.
Year 1
Semester 1 courses
You develop an in-depth understanding of general healthcare, learning alongside other health science students.

Year 2
This year the focus is on developing practical skills while deepening your understanding of health management. You further your understanding of health and wellness, and the needs of clients.

District health boards and other Crown agencies, along with private healthcare providers, including:

What will I learn?
Focuses on the business management side of health. The only bachelor’s degree in health management by a New Zealand university. Includes 150 hours of workplace experience in the health sector. Offered at the South Campus. Part-time study options available.

<li>Are under the age of 20 years; and</li>
<li>Are a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia; and</li>
<li>Don’t meet the University Entrance standard; and</li>
<li>Have received secondary schooling to at least New Zealand Year 12 level (or its equivalent overseas) and completed NCEA Level 2 endorsed with Merit or better. This should include at least 14 credits in each of 4 NCEA Level 2 subjects, at least 3 of which must be on the approved subject list; and</li>
<li>Meet the UE literacy and numeracy standards, or their equivalents; and</li>
<li>Have not completed Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school; or</li>
<li>Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must also be selected into the programme for which they have applied.</li><br>
