Competence Assessment Programme Preparation (CAP – Full Programme)
This programme consists of 5 modules in assisting you to complete Competence Assessment Preparation.
Module 1: The New Zealand Health System – A course that explores what it takes to work within the New Zealand health system including comprehensive information on Legislation/Codes and Acts.
Module 2: Understanding Culture – An in-depth exploration of culture in health care, paying particular attention to the Treaty of Waitangi and Maori health care models.
Module 3: Body Systems – A course that reviews the different systems within the human body and various diseases that can affect them.
Module 4: Nursing Care Management – Providing an overview of nursing care management systems and how they work.
Module 5: Inter-Professional Practice, Quality and Environmental Safety – Providing an overview of inter-professional practices, quality and environmental safety. Covering topics such as working in a multidisciplinary team, advocacy, quality improvement, challenging behaviour and more.
Thes modules are delivered online and is learner driven. There is no maximum time required to complete the set learning hours.
Estimated number of hours: 6 – 8 hours per module / 30 – 40 hours total
Please note: This programme is designed to prepare you to undertake the Competence Assessment Programme in New Zealand by refreshing knowledge and providing and overview of the New Zealand healthcare system and requirements. It is NOT a recognised Competence Assessment Programme. This programme does not make you eligible for registration in New Zealand as a Nurse. Kalandra do not guarantee a visa or employment.
