Postgraduate Diploma in Business L8
Develop advanced level business skills in as little as one semester with the Postgraduate Certificate in Business. If you want to build upon your undergraduate degree in a business subject area, this programme could be for you. You will gain advanced business subject knowledge and research skills that will enhance your career prospects.
This qualification is designed for students who want to gain a postgraduate qualification in stages. Pathways are available to the Postgraduate Diploma in Business or Master of Business.
Modules
To graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Business you must successfully complete 120 points from the Master of Business courses, subject to satisfying prerequisite requirements.
Foci in the Postgraduate Diploma in Business are available for students who complete at least 75 points in one of the following specialist business disciplines: accounting, business information systems, economics, finance, international business, management, marketing, or sport leadership and management.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Business doesn’t include a research project, but can serve as a pathway into the Master of Business research degree.
What will I learn?
A graduate of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business will be able to:
a. Have developed advanced knowledge and understanding of business in a specialised field. (Knowledge/Understanding)
b. Demonstrate intellectual independence using a range of analytical and critical skills. (Personal/Intellectual Autonomy)
c. Have developed capability to consider relevant social, ethical, environmental and sustainability dimensions of decisions in business contexts (Ethical/Professional Dispositions)
d. Demonstrate critical thinking, in depth analytical skills and sophisticated problem solving strategies. (Inquiry/Research/Creativity)
e. Demonstrate analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills applied to business contexts (Skills/Application)
f. Communicate effectively and to a scholarly standard. (Communication)
<ul>
<li>Are under the age of 20 years; and</li>
<li>Are a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia; and</li>
<li>Don’t meet the University Entrance standard; and</li>
<li>Have received secondary schooling to at least New Zealand Year 12 level (or its equivalent overseas) and completed NCEA Level 2 endorsed with Merit or better. This should include at least 14 credits in each of 4 NCEA Level 2 subjects, at least 3 of which must be on the approved subject list; and</li>
<li>Meet the UE literacy and numeracy standards, or their equivalents; and</li>
<li>Have not completed Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school; or</li>
<li>Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must also be selected into the programme for which they have applied.</li><br>

<p>Cost of applying for Discretionary Entrance There is a non-refundable assessment fee of $50.00.</p>
