UI/UX Design

User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design have emerged as the framing approach to all digital design, including websites, apps and other devices and one of the most valuable skills in today’s digital design environment. This course provides a concentrated but substantial introduction to every key element in UI/UX design.

The course introduces students to and provides:

  • A basic understanding of competitive research
  • Designing effective user experience
  • Applying design aesthetics
  • Testing for accessibility
  • Creating professional prototypes
  • Summary reports and design proposals

Integrated throughout the course are real-world examples and skill-building materials that prepare students to enter into or become more valuable participants in the field of UI/UX design.

  • Lesson 6 – Prototyping with Sitemaps
  • Lesson 7 – Designing UI with Style Tiles
  • Lesson 8 – Applying Accessibility Standards
  • Lesson 9 – Key UI/UX Tools and Apps
  • Lesson 10 – Creating a High-Def Prototype
  • Lesson 11 – Understanding and Applying Agile Development
  • Lesson 12 – Presenting a UI/UX Design

Requirements:
Hardware Requirements:

  • This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac.

Software Requirements:

  • PC: Windows 8 or later.
  • Mac: macOS 10.6 or later.
  • Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.
