To work in the veterinary field, you need to understand the medical language unique to the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of animals. This online course will teach you the definition and uses of veterinary medical terminology.

You will master veterinary medical terminology through a simplified learning process that builds on commonly used word parts. Each course lesson is designed to build on this foundation, with the material and illustrations focusing on the new word parts and definitions needed for success in the veterinary field.

  • Lesson 11 – Hematologic, Lymphatic, Immunologic, and Oncological Terminology
  • Lesson 12 – Physical Exams, Drugs, and Dissection

Requirements:
Hardware Requirements:

  • This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac.

Software Requirements:

  • PC: Windows 8 or later.
  • Mac: macOS 10.8 or later.
  • Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
  • Adobe Animate (not included in enrollment).
  • Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

Dr. Janet Romich received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Science degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dr. Romich received the Wisconsin Veterinary Technician Association's Veterinarian of the Year Award for her work in teaching and mentoring veterinary technician students. She has authored the textbooks An Illustrated Guide to Veterinary Medical Terminology, Fundamentals of Pharmacology for Veterinary Technicians and Understanding Zoonotic Diseases; she also co-authored Veterinary Technician Dictionary and served as editor of Anesthesia, Analgesia, and Pain Management for Veterinary Technicians.
